Stroke is one the most important cause of death and disability for Iranians. Unfortunately in recent years the number of people having stroke has increased along with the decrease in age.
This dangerous disease having irreparable affect on people around patient for attention, money and care in addition to threatening the body and soul of the patient. However the social and national costs for taking care and treatment of the patients are really high and the government and insurance companies have to allocate large amount of general health budget for them.

World Stroke Day programs started this year on Mehr 7th that the society members went through the people on 24 different areas of Tehran.

Every year, 5000 people suffer a stroke in Gilan, the deputy of Poursina medical center in Rasht said. He added: “Gilan’s professional stroke team have started to cure the patients with special medicine called TPA.”
Mozafar HosseiniNejad interviews with Tasnim News Agency in Rasht for the World Stroke Day, he says: stroke is the second cause of death and most people become disabled when they’re old besides it has a huge cost for the cure and rehabilitation.
The deputy of Poursina training mentioned it’s somehow possible to prevent the stroke and curable if the diagnostic occurs soon. Increasing the people’s awareness about this disease could influence on the death of the patients, he emphasized.

News: Tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) drug can save some patients’ lives.
If we would be able to use tPA in the first hours of stroke meaning to inject tPA less than 3.5 hours, the patient will be saved, Assistant professor of Neurology in medical university of Rafsanjaan said.
Mr. Ahmadi Moghadam in an interview with the journalists added: tPA is the only treatment for the stroke and with using this drug the patients are no longer suffering from tongue tie, numbness in the limbs and any other side effects.
